PDF to PowerPoint

Convert PDF to PowerPoint (PPTX) online: every page becomes a slide that looks exactly like the original. Free and private.

Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Each PDF page becomes a full-slide image, so slides look exactly like the PDF but are not editable text.

How to convert PDF to PowerPoint

  1. Drop a PDF onto the drop zone above, or click to select it.
  2. Click Convert to PowerPoint. Each page is rendered and placed on its own slide.
  3. Download the .pptx file.
  4. Open it in PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides and present, rearrange or annotate the slides.

The pages are rendered by pdf.js and the presentation is assembled by PptxGenJS directly in your browser. Your PDF is not uploaded, so internal decks and client material stay on your machine.

Why each page becomes an image

Many PDFs that people want to present were originally slides: a deck exported from PowerPoint or Keynote, a handout, a poster or a report page. The goal is usually to show those pages exactly as they look, inside presentation software, with no shifted text boxes, substituted fonts or broken charts.

Rebuilding editable slides from a PDF is unreliable for the same reason PDF to Word conversion is: a PDF stores positioned glyphs and drawing commands, not text boxes, bullet lists or chart objects. Any attempt to reconstruct them tends to produce misaligned text and missing graphics. This converter therefore renders every page at 150 DPI and places it as a full-slide picture. The result looks identical to the original on every device.

Tips

  • Adding your own content: because each slide is a picture, you can draw shapes, arrows or text boxes on top of it, and add speaker notes for each slide.
  • Need to edit the wording? Convert with PDF to Word in editable mode and copy the text into your own slide layout, or use PDF to Text to grab the words quickly.
  • Only some pages? Remove the ones you don't want beforehand with Remove PDF Pages, or delete slides in PowerPoint afterwards.
  • The slide size follows the proportions of the first page, and every page is stretched to fill its slide. For documents that mix portrait and landscape pages, split them into groups with matching shapes and convert each separately.
  • Text on the slides is not searchable inside PowerPoint, because it is part of an image.
  • Password-protected or encrypted PDFs are not supported. Unlock it first with Unlock PDF (you need its password), then come back.
Tip: Image-based slides are a reliable way to share a deck with someone who doesn't have your fonts installed: nothing can reflow or be substituted.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the text on the slides?

Not directly. Each slide contains an image of the PDF page. You can add new text boxes on top, but the original text cannot be edited.

Will the slides look exactly like my PDF?

Yes. Because pages are rendered as images, fonts, colours and graphics appear as they do in the PDF.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Yes. Scanned pages are already images, so they convert just like any other page.

Why is the PPTX file larger than the PDF?

Text and vector graphics in a PDF are compact. Storing each page as a picture usually takes more space, especially for documents with many pages.
